NOTHING'S MORE FUN THAN THE HALLOWEEN SEASON: October is the spookiest time of the year. Children dressed in costume bustle neighborhoods in delight. Illuminated by the haze of a blood covered moon, you can see them in the shadows: super heroes, princesses, zombies, vampires and witches, all of them whoosh from house to house, each of them aspiring to fill their pillowcase sacks with treats.
Crisp, wicked night air is brisk and haunting. The soft, lit ambience of meticulously carved pumpkins glow from every neighbor's porch. Girlfriends get together for sleepovers, huddled in preparation of scary movie night. You can hear the screeches of unseen spectors and the hisses of the black cat crossing your path. Do you dare to enter a cursed corn maze? Are you brave enough to withstand a night inside the haunted house on the hill?

Sent away to college in America, Evangeline swore she would never return to England. Anger loses its value when tragedy forces her home to assume ownership of the family's beloved Greco-Roman museum.
Placing a foolish, drunken kiss on a Greek statue in the museum's basement, Evangeline unknowingly frees a Spartan prince from an evil oracle's curse. The Oracle's fury only mounts as they unravel Demona's darkest secrets, but not before Demona finds out about their unborn half-breed immortal twins.

About the Author:
Kristine Cheney is a published author with Astraea Press. She is currently writing the Spartan Heart Saga series and has released Spartan Heart, Part One, and Spartan Heart, Part Two. She is currently writing the next book in the series, Spartan Surrender, which is expected to be released before the end of 2011. Three more books are planned to follow. An Arizona native, Kristine lives in Surprise and has been married 21 years to her high school sweetheart Brett. She is the mother of Taryn, Brett, and Zackary, and is a young Grammy to Parker, Ivy, and baby Evely'nn. A huge labrador lover, she is also mom to yellow lab Magnus and to the very naughty (and huge) white Labra-doodle puppy Brody.
Hobbies include writing passionate love stories that involve chivalrous characters, dashing adventure, forked humor, and the ever-true good vs. evil dilemma. Her favorite place to relax is anywhere within close proximity to a beach or wooded lake. A huge history buff, she plans to one day make a trek across the US to get her fill of American wonder (with hubby, labs, and lap top in tow). She loves a good hot cup of coffee with Creme Brulee liquid creamer and sugar. A maestro with a bag of frosting, Wilton cake decorating lessons only fueled her artistic fire. She is pretty darn awesome at crankin' out a deluxe wedding, baby shower, or themed birthday cake that will make your toes curl.
Hobbies include writing passionate love stories that involve chivalrous characters, dashing adventure, forked humor, and the ever-true good vs. evil dilemma. Her favorite place to relax is anywhere within close proximity to a beach or wooded lake. A huge history buff, she plans to one day make a trek across the US to get her fill of American wonder (with hubby, labs, and lap top in tow). THERE'S NOTHING LIKE FALL, FOR IT IS MY FAVORITE TIME OF THE YEAR: Fall is the time when everything slows down. The hustle and bustle of the sizzling, hot sun finally silences, and the hands of time seem to slow. The days get shorter, the sunsets blush deeper, and ripe, juicy fruits are awaiting their last, lush plucking of the season.
Have you ever witnessed the husky, amber glow of a full harvest moon? The air turns crisp. Football season keeps the men-folk happy. Front porches fill with laughter and neighborly visits. Then there's the slow, creaking rocks of a slotted porch swing on a cool evening. Parents regain their sanity when restless children rush back to school.
Autumn brings changes to the landscape. Fall flowers boast dark, jeweled tones. Even the trees won't be left unscathed. Leaves turn from vivid greens to brazen colors of yellow, orange, red, brown, and even black.
Then there's the tantalizing scents that drive us all crazy. The linger of spiced cider, the beckoning aromas of cinnamon and family dinners. Patches of pumpkins grow round and fat for the upcoming festivals of October.

THERE'S NOTHING LIKE SUMMER: Okay, it's really as sweltering hot as Hades...and there's quite a few flying, pesky bugs buzzing around, and man that wretched humidity can smother a mortal where they stand. But still, there are quite a few things about summertime that we must never fail to forget.
Have you ever witnessed the way the sun melts when it extinguishes its flame in the coolness of the ocean? What about the bloom of a perfect, English rose? Then there's the refreshing taste of an ice cold mint julep, a juicy sno-cone, or a bright colored popsicle whetting our whistle. You can't forget the slices of watermelon, the BBQ's and strand lit barn dances, with plenty of hot dogs, hamburgers, and Grandma's famous macaroni salad to pass around.
And then there's love...young, sweet ripe kisses by the bushelful. The feel of the one you love pressed against you in a lover's tender embrace. The wedding march down an aisle in the last week of June. Cincada's twanging their secret storm songs, bringing the promises of whooshing winds and pouring rain.

Kristine Cheney is a published author with Astraea Press. She is currently writing the Spartan Heart Saga series and has released Spartan Heart, Part One, and Spartan Heart, Part Two. She is currently writing the next book in the series, Spartan Surrender, which is expected to be released before the end of 2011. Three more books are planned to follow. She is also currently writing Guilty of Innocence, a single-title release expected in Fall 2011.
An Arizona native, Kristine lives in Surprise and has been married 21 years to her high school sweetheart Brett. She is the mother of Taryn, Brett, and Zackary, and is a young Grammy to Parker, Ivy, and baby Evely'nn. A huge labrador lover, she is also mom to yellow lab Magnus and to the very naughty (and huge) white Labra-doodle puppy Brody.
